Jonathan: Well played today. Slightly wet, but glad we managed to get the match in. Really solid play from John. Well deserved victory. Chases down everything, have to work for every point. Well played!
John: Cheers for the game, Jonathan. Tricky weather but we managed to play both sets in the end. Plenty of great points in between and Jonathan has a dangerous backhand. All the best

Ben: Very soggy conditions, but still a great match with some close games and epic rallies! Pleasure mate, look forward to doing it again sometime
Nick: The most grim conditions game of tennis this year. Dripping "torture" rain with blustery wind made for our tennis tough mudder. No wonder most normal people were cozed up inside. Regardless 2 tennis heroes took to the court and had a epic 2h10 duel. Epic rallies and adaption to the horrendousness. This was coupled with some nice chats meant we could conduct our business. Ben good game, you were too much for me today. See you next year for the return:)

David: A hard-fought game with Charlie on a glorious Thursday morning at Battersea Park! We were both greeted with sunshine when we arrived just after 8am! There was some dew on the surface but the court was certainly playable! The first set could have gone either way! I held my serve to move 1-0 ahead but five successive breaks followed! However, Charlie fought back from 4-2 down and turned the tables in his favour to lead 5-4! We both cancelled each other out for the remainder of the set and a tie-break was inevitable! The tie-break was highly competitive and beautifully poised at 5-5 but Charlie took the initiative and won the next two points to win the opening set! The second set was also tight! We had some brilliant nip-and-tuck rallies and points were often decided by fine margins with balls dropping inches out or striking the top of the net! Charlie forged ahead and didn’t relinquish his advantage, despite my best efforts! I had a glimmer of hope when I reduced the deficit to 4-3 but Charlie calmly won the next two games and clinched a well deserved victory! Well played Charlie! You were the better player across both sets as you were more consistent and forced me into errors! I wasn’t at my best today but you deserve credit for preventing me from playing my natural game! I was also impressed with your ability to return deep balls fired at your feet! Thanks for organising the match too! I liked your enthusiasm and I hope we can play again some time! Best of luck in the rest of the league!
