Lars: It was great meeting Hugh. Very tight first set and some close games at the beginning of the second. After that the weather conditions worsened quite a bit, but we just managed see the game out. Thanks for the match and good luck for the rest of your league matches!

Hugh: Very enjoyable game with Lars. We managed to stay dry until the last 2 games! Tight first set & lots of deuces at start of 2nd. Thanks for the match & good luck in your remaining matches. Hope you didn’t get too wet going home!

Filip: A good match with Stephen, he is all round classy player, very consistent and technical. Good luck for the rest of the round and thanks for the practice after the match.

Tom: That first set was a battle. I wasn’t able to close it out at 5-2 and Temi fought back. Tiebreak was even until I managed to break Temi’s serve and take it 7-4. I was more comfortable in the second set with my serve coming good when I needed it. Overall that was a really strong test against Temi who gives you very little from his forehand and backhand and moves very well too. Fortunately I was able to put pressure on his second serve from which I was able to win key points.

Temi: Tom played very well, I led 2-0 but then Tom picked up his form and was able to play a very good game, I was able to make it competitive for the rest of the set but Tom won the crucial points and took the first and second set, well played and well deserved win!

Hugh: A very competitive & long match as usual against Filip. I think I benefitted in 1st set as he hadn’t played in a while, 2nd set much closer, lots of deuces. Thanks for the match, good luck in your other games

Filip: A very good match with Hugh in light wind. I am glad third set was tiebreak. Thanks Hugh and good luck in next matches.

Tom: Wet and very windy as well as being slippery underfoot - definitely not tennis weather. We just about got the first set out of the way before a heavy downpour.

Tom: Well played, Dipesh. Neither of us played our best tennis and the match was largely decided by the number of first serves both of us got in. Both relatively tentative on the forehand. Dipesh has a very tidy backhand, though, and moves well too.

Jeffrey: Sam has some great - and lethal - spin, a good match in the sun was had!

Tim: Tom is a very experienced and solid player. His forehand has a lot of pace and especially when he can get inside out for the winner. Serve is a weapon when it gets going. The second set it all came together for Ton and couldn’t touch him. I’ll consider myself lucky to get the win

Tom: First set we were both getting warmed up - both service games not up to scratch. Second set I found my game and confidence when we had daylight between us. Third set I went back to playing within myself and Tim took advantage. He played some really solid percentage shots and forced me to make errors. His body serves and deep returns make him difficult to beat. All in all, a really competitive match. 🙌

Temi: Tricky but fun game today, I kept hoping my serve would step up and it came right when needed!
