David: An enjoyable game with Trewin on a cloudy but pleasant Monday morning at King George’s Park! The conditions were slightly wet but didn’t have a major effect on proceedings! I started well and won the opening two games which both went to deuce! The third game followed a similar trend but Trewin got on the scoreboard and then mounted a superb comeback! I played some poor tennis in the middle of the set and was unduly punished! Trewin won five games in a row and roared into a 5-2 lead! I reduced the deficit to 5-3 but Trewin remained calm and claimed the next game to win the opening set! Trewin made an imposing start in the second set and continued where he left off! Trewin made it 2-0 but I stopped the rot and took the next game to stay in contention! However, my joy was short-lived as Trewin took complete control and raced into a 5-1 lead. Several games went to deuce but Trewin was more ruthless in key moments and I was very inconsistent! I struck several clean winners but was also undone by a plethora of unforced errors! I made the score slightly more respectable by winning the next game but Trewin was clinical and secured a comfortable victory! Well played Trewin! You were undoubtedly the better player and thoroughly deserved to win! I played much better in our friendly third set which at least gives me some much-needed confidence! Thanks for organising and I hope we meet again next season! And best of luck in the rest of the league!
